Fat Bombs


Fat Bombs are just what they say...little bombs (balls) of healthy fats. Later in your course, we will talk about why healthy fats--the Omega 3's and a few other s--are so vital to your health. For now, know that good fats: 1) support the immune system and help to reduce inflammation; 2) support the brain and nervous system; 3) support healthy fat and lipid metabolism; and 4)help prevent hypoglycemia. 

We particularly recommend using fat bombs during your program if you are someone who tends toward low blood sugar between meals or overnight. You can use them after meals, between meals, or before bed if needed. 


There are 3 basic ingredients to EVERY fat bomb recipe…and here are some examples: 


1.HEALTHY FATS 

Examples are: 

Cacao Butter, Coconut Butter, Almond Butter, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, Coconut Cream, Ghee, Bacon Fat, Butter, and Avocado Oil. (All sugar-free!!) 


2.FLAVORINGS  

Examples are: 

Sugar-free Vanilla Extract, 100% Dark Chocolate, Cacao Powder, Peppermint Extract, Himalayan Salt, Spices 


3.TEXTURES 

Examples are: 

Cacao Nibs, Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts, Chia Seeds, Bacon Bits, Coconut Shreds (All sugar-free!) 

Here are the simple steps for combining the ingredients to make the Fat Bombs: STEP ONE: 

Mix all chosen ingredients together in a mixing bowl, food processor or blender. Some oils will mix better when melted. (do this first before mixing in) 


STEP TWO: 

Form small balls and place into muffin tins, or on a baking tray (or pour more liquidy mixes into ice-cube trays). 


STEP THREE: 

Refrigerate (or freeze) for several hours until the mixture is solid. If using a baking tray, cut into bite-size pieces. 

Example Recipe: 

Ingredients – 

1 Cup Almond Butter 1 Cup Coconut Oil 

½ Cup Cacao Powder 10-15 Whole Almonds 

¼ Cup Coconut Flour Stevia or Monk Fruit Crystals to taste 


Melt almond butter and coconut butter in a pan. When melted, add in cacao powder, coconut flour, stevia (or Monk Fruit crystals) and mix well. 

Let the mixture cool, and then form balls (about the size of a walnut). Place an almond inside each ball. Place all the balls in refrigerator for chilling. Store in refrigerator until ready to consume. (you can also mix this all without heating too!) ENJOY!!
